It's the last game where it is at least possible to ignore all the stat modifiers because they're not waved at the player? It's a sequel to a much better but also very dated game? There’s a reason R2 has a substantially larger player-base to Shogun 2, R1 and M2 and no, it’s not because an ‘elite few’ understand the game better than anyone else. Rome 2 is still being bought and played, so why would they create a remaster? They've doubled-down and doubled-down again. Why don't they remaster Rome 2? For the same reasons we're not seeing a Medieval, Shogun or Rome 3 game: they will all be unfavourably compared to their predecessors because CA don't think they've had any terrible ideas for years that needed urgently walking back.
